In this year WWDC, Apple – California tech giant announced a new major software update across the apple, but within few hours internet seems lit and mad because of the new macOS 11 Big Sur design update. Apple introduced this new update as the biggest design update since macOS X, given a new fresh look to existing mac OS within an apple ecosystem. Apple jump from macOS 10 to macOS 11 after 19 years with 15 major updates, showing how heavy and important this new macOS 11 Big Sur with its new design update.
However, it seems like the biggest design update does not make most Apple users happy because of several reasons such as the appearance of the icons and inconsistent look.
Previous macOS Catalina 10.15 has a good overall review from the mac users but Big Sur has almost a few mix-ups on it since the users talk a lot about “Why New macOS 11 Big Sur looks so ugly!?” on twitter and Instagram. So before we jump into a sudden conclusion, let’s check a few major icon changes happen in macOS 11.

As you can see, Apple has focused more on soft skeuomorphism rather than simple flat design and also with a more consistent look throughout all macOS 11 and IOS 14 by given rounder edge squares to every possible icon. But some of the icons do not look as good as the icons that we mentioned earlier, take a look at the below icons.

It seems these icons were not much consistent or with matching appearance of the macOS overall design and already thousands of mac users gone mad because of this one icon – green battery icon. This might happen because of the MacOS 11 beta version and most probably these bad inconsistent icons will be redesigned within the next update.
The next thing that users more complained about is some inconsistent User interface design throughout the macOS. Here are the few examples we have taken from “Why is macOS 11 Big Sur Ugly? – Krazy Ken’s Tech Misadventures” video.
1.Bell icons looks too much 3D and feels inconsistent with other icons.

2. Some of the menus does not align properly

3. Speaker icon and volume bar doesn’t align properly.

4. Most of the menus got rounded corners but few of them left out !
